In a world in which we have to label every condition, every thought and every feeling, emotions are described within a category of positive and negative. It has now become fashionable to attempt to auto correct feelings that are not connected to happiness and joy. Yet how would we know or be aware of true joy and happiness without its opposite?
Suppressing emotions, attempting to instantly counter a so called negative emotion with a positive one, create an inner conflict and a greater dis-connection than before.
Emotions are neither positive or negative. They are messages and sometimes self protective outlets that aid us in releasing grief and pure joy. A deep awareness of an emotion and the sensitivity to see it for what it is can lead it to dissolving by itself or we can create through it, manifesting something from the emotion that will be unique to the particular feeling felt at that time.
Emotions are the bridge between the mind and body and this means being able to understand ourselves and realise we are not just our emotional state. This will enable the ability to act in spite of how we feel and not fight against our own thoughts.
