This week is the start of our regular Youtube videos where we will be looking at all aspects of forging a powerful mind, including thoughts, beliefs, consciousness, physical movement and nutrition.
Personal Development remains fragmented at the moment, and I believe if we do not reunite the understanding of our mind with the training and health of the physical body, the expansive potential of the mind is hindered.
One of the main reasons for starting these videos is to answer questions and challenge many of the accepted ideas on the law of attraction, fear, freedom from emotional stress, confrontation and much more. In fact anything that delivers greater understanding into the potential of mind.
We need to start moving beyond the limited intellectual understanding of mind and become self-aware enough to experience it. Everything we eat, every movement we make, every feeling we have and every thought we have, is a direct reflection of our own mind. This can expand perception or shrink it into an invisible cage where fear, excuses and frustration can thrive.
The belief that our minds can function independently of the body is not only ridiculous but is preventing the experience and flourishing of our own potential.
Personal development is currently dominated by psychology of the brain and it is believed that it’s only in this area that solutions of intelligence and success can be accessed.
Fitness and healthy eating are sometimes mentioned but these are currently offered as optional choices that deliver side benefits to help the body support this psychological dominance. This is a big mistake and demonstrates a lack of understanding in the capability of the body’s intelligence.
The mind can only function efficiently if the health of the body is placed as the very foundation of its potential. If you doubt this try eating processed junk food for one week to see what happens to the capacity of your mind. Observe what happens to your thoughts and mental health if this is pursued over longer periods of time.
The physical body is capable of igniting the mind with a dynamic creativity that cannot be accessed by the brain alone. This is why we now have world-class classical pianists such as Ji Liu who has expressed a new force of creativity in his music with breakdancing and bodyweight exercises. Another example is the brilliant mathematician featured in Ken Robinsons book “The Element” who sticks to a strict diet of meditation, physical training and nutrition as the foundation to his solution solving.
This new movement within personal development will be the one followed by those that no longer engage with the thought “Does the mind lead the body, or does the body lead the mind?” and will instead realise that personal creative potential in all areas of our lives, which include intelligence, intuition, spirituality, physical and sensory awareness can only be fully discovered by exploring mind and body together at the same time.
This is because the mind functions beyond the capacity of the brain and actually includes the body. It can also be expressed beyond it within our surrounding environment. This has been widely accepted by Far Eastern philosophy for thousands of years; but what is fascinating is that now many leading Western scientists are realising this and it is forcing them to abandon out dated and often lifeless ideas of mind.
This is a hard concept for many to understand as mind has been viewed and accepted as only within the brain due to its modern scientific explanation. This is so powerful when we consider the implications of this in treating depression and mental health issues, as it is very common for these conditions to be a case of literally “stuck in ones head” and with it, the total stagnation of mind. This is why physical exercise and other mindfulness practises are so effective in the treatment of depression because the energy of mind is literally released from its prison of thought.
In future articles, seminars and of course our videos, I will further explain how the unlimited potential of our mind can be cultivated but in the meantime if you have any questions please personal message me or comment below.
Fascinating…….Look forward to seeing the Video’s………….
