The Internal Storm.

March 9, 2015 by Simon Lee 1 Comment

internal stormThe storm can hit at any time in ones life. We can deliberately find one, seek one out by sailing into unchartered seas or one can come seemingly out of nowhere slamming into our comfortable life of pre planned certainty. Sometimes they give no warning, almost creeping up behind you before hitting you full force. Other storms build in front of you, they warn you, giving you time to act, to prepare or to ignore.

Fear always accompanies the storm. It is your compass that is read through awareness and intuition. Fear will either be used as your ally making it your guide and teacher or it will become your nemesis holding you trapped and stagnant.

Many cannot see clearly in the storm because they concentrate entirely on the feelings of the struggle and not on the light ahead. They become like the ship tossed around in the sea of emotional turmoil expecting the storm to pass whilst marinating in its full power, being led and controlled by whatever rises from its depths.

The storm can continue to rage even when there is calm and stillness surrounding it. It is possible to stay in the storm and become it, identifying ourselves with the turmoil it produces. A slave to the storm.

We are the Center of the storm. To steer our way out we need to look, to really see so that we become the calm by letting go of hatred, anger, regret and jealousy for these are the waves of destruction that can eventually sink us into despair.

There is immense treasure to be discovered from the storm. We just fail to see it. This treasure contains real wealth and holds incredible wisdom. It is a treasure we can keep with us forever. It holds love, compassion, strength and integrity. It holds intelligence itself through self knowing.

Storms are part of life.

But every storm has a lesson.

Has a reason.

Every storm has undiscovered treasure.

Recommended film. The Pyramid Texts Ray is a old boxer brilliantly played by James Cosmo, who desperately estranged from his son, talks about his loves, his regrets, and his greatest life lessons to a camera in an empty boxing gym.
